• Where the hell have I been?  Working on MotorcycleMonkey.com!  We hope to open shop by the end of August.  I'm working on two top secret Busa parts that will knock you out of your tree.  All I can say at this time is that they are rear sets and suspension links like you've never seen before ... guaranteed!

• Okay, so I didn't get to the website today ... but I did get the Busa up and running!  YAYA!  Got the HMF pipe installed and am trying the hmf6.2 map on the PCII.  If you know of a better map to run with the following set up: small air box mod, K&N air filter, HMF 4-2-1, and TRE, please let me know.

• My apologies for not updating in a while.  I've been on vacation in Holland, and now I'm teaching two 3 hr a day intersession classes.  Thank God it's over in a couple of weeks.  Then I'll be back with much news, including:

• Holland cycle gear purchases ... which hasn't shown up on my Visa statement yet ... hmm?
• Stock header gutting
• Shorter rear links - reviews of -0.25 and -0.50 inches
• Small air box mod
• and last but not least, the Busa's little brother ... my 2001 Aprilia Mille purchase!

• Finally ... an update!  Copper plastics are installed ... Yoshi RS-3 Carbon bolt-ons installed ... killer falcon painted on the tank.
• Got some rotors on the way for the extra set of wheels.  I'll post pics of the stripped wheels once they're on the bike ... some time next week.
• Also, just bought a PowerCommander on eBay for $185.

Sat 9.8.01

• Paint stripped the extra set of wheels last night.  Check out how to do it.
• The tank is still at the painter and will be ready soon.  At that time I'll have pics of the "new" 99 plastics, the painted tank with the falcon emblem, the carbon pipes, and the stripped wheels.

Tue 9.4.01

• Stomach flu sucks!  I did however manage to change the plastics over to copper and it's bitchin.  Take the tank in to get it painted tomorrow.
• Also bolted on the Yoshi RS-3 Carbons.  The sound is awesome.  No performance changes that I can feel.
• Next week I'll post pics of the process and the final product.

• Took Doc Wong's "Cornering Confidence - Pivot Steering" clinic today.  I highly recommend it!  Learned a lot!  Will go again.  Read all about the day here.
• Started the Crash 'n Rash page.
• Copper plastics and Yoshi pipes should all be here by Friday!  Woohoo!  Hopefully by Sat afternoon I'll be riding 99 retro copper colors!  Here's the Busa in it's current state - all naked!

• Awesome things going on here!
  • Received my leathers!  They fit awesome and were a killer price $400 (which includes the tax and shipping).  Email Alex at Leather Paradise for details and check out my leathers page for pics.
  • Got an extra set of wheels on the way.  I plan on polishing these!
  • Got a pair of Yoshi RS-3 Carbon pipes on the way!  A friend of mine found a mp3 sound file of the pipes ... sweet!  Can you imagine hearing that as someone flies by you?
  • AND am packing up my plastics to trade for 99 Copper plastics!  Ya, I'll have the original Copper color that says Busa all over it, but on an 01 bike!

Thu 8.16.01

• What a ride today!  From Hollister down Hwy 25 to Hwy 198, across to Hwy 101, and over to Arroyo Seco to Carmel Valley for dinner, then home along Hwy 1 ... 280 miles!  Read all about it in the trip report ... there's a little surprise in there for ya!

• Read about Doc Wong and Gary Jaehne's Suspension II Workshop.  I highly recommend that you do not miss the next one!
• Preliminary report on the "old" style ST screen: not good.  The "new" style screen is much better.
• Do I have a surprise on the drawing board ... but you're gonna have to wait a week or two.  This one will blow you away when you read about it and see the pics!
• Leaving for Vegas in about an hour!  So, I'll be out of contact till Friday.

Thu 8.2.01

• Installed a K&N air filter today.  Super easy install.
• Installed the "old style" Zero Gravity ST windscreen.  I'm riding tomorrow so will report on Sat how different it is from the "new style" ST screen.
• Installed a throttle lock ... messed up on this one!  Read about my mistakes, so you don't commit the same crime!

Tues 7.31.01

• Get your suspension professionally adjusted or make sure you do it right!  Here's a great article from the Ducati website.
  
  My bike handles 10X better now.  I went into a turn today, that I've ridden a thousand times.  As I was approaching, I thought, "feels like about 80 mph, good entry speed for this turn."  Then I looked down at the speedo ... 100 mph ... holy cow!  I slowed a little ... went in at 90 mph, 10 more than usual, and upon exit thought, "next time it's 100 for sure ... no problem!  Yahooooooooooo!"  Hehe ... left a customary blackie upon exit too!  Busa rules!
   
• I got my suspension adjusted here.  But will definitely post more info on the topic later.

• Today, I replaced the stock headlight bulbs with Xe Super White bulbs.

  • Ocelot 24 liter (big) non magnetic black tank bag with mounting straps and rain cover Fits perfectly on the Busa. Paid $58 take $35 SOLD
     
  • 2 sets of EBC FA 188 front brake pads for the Busa. Never opened. Paid $68 take $50 SOLD
     
  • New Scorpio CYL300DX cycle alarm with remote and 125db, 6 tone siren. Brand new alarm module with 1 year old wiring harness that's been previously installed on a Busa so installation will be a snap.$215 take $160
     
  • Pitbull rear stand and spool kit paid $120 and $16 take $100 for both SOLD
     
  • ZG-ST (Sport Touring) clear windscreen in used condition. Has broken ear where mounting hole is. Could be fixed easily by gluing small washer where mounting hole is. Paid $70 take $20 SOLD
     
  • NOJ quiet rider. Slips in helmet opening and velcros around the neck for a much quieter ride. Paid $35 take $10 SOLD
     
  • Nepco throttle lock. Mounts in 1 minute. Perfect fit for shaking out the wrist while riding the Busa. Paid $16 take $10 SOLD
      
  • Stem stand for radar detector or camera mounting. Paid $42 take $25 SOLD

• It's here!  The undertail mod with detailed pics on how to!  The turn signals got shorted at the same time.
• I've added a "Pro's and Con's" and a "First Impressions (with a ratings 1 to 5 stars) and 6 Month Impressions" section to each of the mod pages.

• Installed bushings in the 95 GSXR750 pegs ... a must do!
• Finally finished the web page for the Progrip Gel Grips.  They're pretty sweet!
• Finished my undertail mod two nights ago.  I'm working on the web page for it now.  It should be up tomorrow.

Mon 7.9.01

• Finished the trip report for Laguna Seca WSBK 2001 ... tons-o-pics!
• Just changed out the stock footpegs for 95 GSXR 750 pegs.

Thu 7.5.01

• What a great few Busa days.  Went on a killer July 4^th ride.
• Then in the afternoon, I modified my hump to access the storage space under the white plastic mounting base.  DO NOT CUT YOUR HUMP!  My way is much cleaner, neater, and quicker!
• Lastly, I "milled" down the footpegs so they sit a little more level.
• I've updated all the mod pages.  Each one now includes a needed Materials and Tools section.
• Off to the races tomorrow!  Laguna Seca all weekend for nothing but fast bikes!  I'll post pics upon my return.
• Oh, my ZX-11 is still for sale ... I accept credit cards ... no joke!
