Friday, 11/03/17:
I arrived at the Barona Race Track at 4pm on Friday afternoon and the minute I got there Brian (one of the event organizers), informed me that we needed to get to The Ramona Mainstage as soon as possible. I parked my truck and toy hauler and hopped in his car for the 7 mile drive. Once we got there we immediately started setting up for the evening’s festivities. I was to be the emcee for the, “Twisted Burlesque Show”. This was not only my first time as a host to a show like this but it was also my first time seeing a burlesque show, live. Let’s just say it was a fun event with some fundraising involved…
Saturday, 11/04/17:
I woke up on Saturday morning at about 6am. After hitting snooze a half a dozen times I finally got up to get my vendor space ready for Motorcycle Monkey. I had no idea what to expect as my first time doing this so I was glad to have the help of my friends Bryan, his wife Megan and another friend, Kelly. The day started with “run what ya brung”, drag racing. Bikes of every type took to the track and it was very entertaining. There were seasoned veterans along with first timers. Everyone seemed to be having a blast. There were also vendors like myself, food, live music, a kids zone, stunt bike shows and even BMX stunts as well. It was all capped off with Flat Track Racing on Saturday night. At about 8pm I decided to pack up the truck and hauler and get home to my family. I’d call this event a huge success and it didn’t matter if you rode or not…it had something for everyone.
Be sure to make it in 2018 and ride safely…
